Healthy Eating: Identifying Food Categories and Balancing the Diet
在2024年11月13号,Flowers for Algernon (FFA) Zhixing在常熟市特殊教育学校举办了一次介绍健康饮食的活动。这一次我们有幸邀请到20多位孩子们一起学习健康饮食。可爱的小朋友们在讲台前围坐成一个半圆形,在小老师们的带领下积极举手发言,回答问题,快乐而高效地学习了有关健康饮食的知识。
On November 13, 2024, Flowers for Algernon (FFA) Zhixing held an event to introduce healthy eating at Changshu Special Education School. This time, we were lucky to invite more than 20 kids to learn about healthy eating. The lovely children sat in a semicircle in front of the podium, and under the leadership of the little teachers, they actively raised their hands to speak, answer questions, and learn the knowledge of healthy eating happily and efficiently.
随着时代的发展,健康饮食逐渐成为人们热议的话题,大家开始更加关注自身的饮食结构与健康问题。健康饮食不仅是一种生活方式,更是一个需要实践与坚持的过程。在学习和践行健康饮食的过程中,孩子们可以培养自律意识,收获身体和心理上的满足感,从而提升他们的生活技能与自信心。为孩子们提供一个机会,让他们参与到健康饮食的实践中,不仅有助于他们的成长,也是在为建设一个更加健康的未来贡献力量。
With the development of today’s society, a healthy diet has gradually become a hot topic for people, and people have begun to pay more attention to their diet structure and health problems. Healthy eating is not only a way of life but also a process that requires practice and persistence. In learning and practicing healthy eating, children can develop self-discipline, gain physical and psychological satisfaction, and improve their life skills and self-confidence. Giving children an opportunity to participate in the practice of healthy eating not only helps them grow but also contributes to building a healthier future.

活动开始,我们先向孩子们介绍了健康饮食是什么。通过一些图片和例子,向孩子们介绍了健康饮食的定义与意义。我们列举了各类蔬菜,水果,谷物和蛋白质。孩子们对相关的生活化议题很有热情,不仅参与了对影院元素的辨别和相关食物的距离,甚至出乎意料的提到了我们没有预想过的答案,如提到淀粉存在在土豆里面时有个孩子说:“薯条!”
At the beginning of the activity, we introduced the children to what healthy eating is. Through some pictures and examples, the children were introduced to the definition and meaning of healthy eating. We listed various types of vegetables, fruits, grains, and proteins, and the clever children quickly learned the categories and actively identified the corresponding foods.


在孩子们分享了自己喜欢的食物后,我们进行了一轮小挑战,让孩子们辨别哪些是健康食品哪些不健康, 像是牛奶和可乐,蔬菜和冰激淋。这个活动里所有孩子都很积极,争先恐后的运用自己刚才学到的知识,同时孩子们表现出极高的学习能力,正确率非常高。令人印象深刻的是当有孩子回答了错误的选项时,孩子们还会提醒对方并说出正确答案。
After the children shared their favorite foods, we gave them a challenge to identify which foods were healthy and which were unhealthy, such as milk and coke, vegetables, and ice cream. The children showed high learning ability and answered the questions accurately and consistently.

接下来我们大致介绍了一下“211餐盘”,使孩子们更加了解平时要吃什么,并吃多少,在健康饮食的基础上 向孩子们介绍了了均衡饮食的重要性和功能,加深了孩子们对饮食习惯的了解和认知。
Next, we briefly introduced the “211 plates” to make children more aware of what to eat and how much to eat, and talked about the importance of a balanced diet to make children healthier and stronger.

在讲述完健康饮食相关内容后,通过一个简短的动画视频,总结了当天所学。
After talking about healthy eating, We used a short video summarizing what I learned that day.
装饰马克杯
Mug Decoration Activity
最后,我们进行了一个手工活动。每个小朋友都拿到了一个马克杯,一些贴纸,还有彩笔。在成员的引导下,孩子们踊跃参与,开始用自己的方式装饰马克杯,画上自己喜欢的图案或是卡通角色,又贴上了各式各样的蔬菜贴纸。希望以这种方式,不但让孩子们记得我们这次的活动,更能在以后的生活中注意到这个水杯,被水杯上喜欢的角色打动,带来快乐,同时不要忘记用这个水杯多喝一些水。
Finally, we had a craft activity. Each child was given a mug, stickers, and markers. Under the guidance of the members, the children actively participated and began to decorate the mug in their own way, painting their favorite patterns or cartoon characters, and pasting a variety of vegetable stickers, so that they can see the water cup and remember to develop a good habit of healthy eating, and want to remind everyone to drink more water.

有一个孩子说她最喜欢吃的水果是草莓, 于是在成员的帮助下,画出了一个饱满圆润的大草莓。她又说一定要多吃草莓,便又画了四个, 提醒自己多吃水果。
One child said that her favorite fruit was strawberries, so with the help of the members, she drew a full and round strawberry. She also said that she must eat more strawberries, and then drew four more to remind herself to eat more fruit.
总结&反思
Summary & Reflection
本次活动十分圆满的结束了,通过本次活动,我们成功帮助孩子们掌握了健康饮食的基本知识,并通过游戏和互动培养了他们的自信心与自主思考能力。孩子们积极的互动态度和学习能力也让我们十分感动。未来,我们希望通过更加多样化的形式,进一步巩固他们的学习成果,并鼓励他们养成健康的生活习惯。我们的教学视频和PPT也被学校采纳,以供更多孩子们学习。
This activity ended successfully. Through this activity, we successfully helped the children master the basic knowledge of healthy eating and cultivated their self-confidence and independent thinking ability through games and interaction. In the future, we hope to further consolidate their learning through more diversified forms and encourage them to develop healthy lifestyle habits. Our instructional videos and PowerPoint presentations have also been adopted by schools for more children to learn.
